Sun Peaks - Snowshoeing Tour

From mid-December to end of March, the hills in Sun Peaks are blanketed in snow that provides dozens of trailheads to snowshoe uplands forests and wide-open spaces.  We offer you tours that will help you explore the extensive snowshoe trail system at Sun Peaks Resort! 

Winter Wonderland Snowshoe Tour – You will join our professional guide for a fun and informative 2-hour afternoon snowshoe tour through the quiet snow-covered terrain. The excursion stars with an introductory lesson followed by a history of snowshoeing, snowshoe technology and local lore. Experience the natural habitat of local birds and animals. Your tour includes stops at the bird feeding station, snow cave, and then relax at the winter camp to enjoy a drink of hot apple and a trail treat. 

Moonlight Snowshoe & S’mores – Come and experience the magic of a winter’s night on this Moonlight Snowshoe Tour, including a campfire treat of S ‘mores.  The evening commences with an easy 1-kilometre snowshoe tour and guided trek through beautiful forest trails. Clients will then enjoy a roaring fire, hot apple cider and special S ‘mores at the cozy winter camp. The return journey offers beautiful views overlooking the picturesque village and its sparkling lights! This tour does not accept children 8 years or younger.

Alpine Snowshoe Experience - Discover the spectacular sub alpine area of Sun Peaks with our professional guide on a fun and informative alpine snowshoe tour.  At the trail stop enjoy a drink of hot apple cider and a trail treat. This tour is a great way for non-skiers to explore Tod Mountain and enjoy amazing views.

Valley of the Lynx Explorer – Client will explore the magical snowshoe trails on this 3 hour tour in the tranquil East Valley of Sun Peaks. Guests experience the natural habitat of local birds and animals, including the elusive Canadian Lynx, and the Snowshoe Hare.  Lookout for wildlife tracks and enjoy making fresh tracks of your own on fresh snow days!  This is a great tour for guests to experience snowshoeing for the first time, or for experienced snowshoers ready to undertake their next adventure. A visit to the snow cave, and time to relax at the cozy winter camp to enjoy hot apple cider, and trail treats is included in this tour.

  • We provide hotel accommodations in this destination with options to extend the stay, hotel and room upgrades.  Please contact us if you require hotel stay for your client.

  • Snowshoes and Gaiters are provided for the tour. 
  • Tours include a hot apple cider and trail treat.
  • Taxes and GST.

Exclusions

  • Ground transportation.
  • Travel Insurance - recommended.  We require Travel Agent to secure a signed Waiver in the event client declines your offer to sell Travel Insurance.
    DMCi will require Travel Agent to provide us the signed waiver when required as a part of the Terms & Conditions of Contract.
    DMCi sells Manulife Travel Insurance.  Please check with us for rates.
  • Bottled Water.

  • Clients must check in at the Activities Desk in the Village Day Lodge 30 minutes prior to start of the tour.
